Another 5k
I did my 2nd 5k on the 18th and I am happy to say that I beat my time! I am so glad that I have found something that is working for me to get in shape and to get healthy! I used to wear a 2XL shirt and now I am down to a Large :) I am thinking about doing another 5k on the 1st of August, we will see if I can pull out the money, I may do it not competing and see my time. I don't have pictures for this one :( oh well. A funny thing happened with the packets for this 5k. When we signed up for it they said that we would get a t-shirt and we would get a finishing medal. When I picked up the packets the lady stuck a medal in the sacks! I asked if they were the finishing medals and she said yes! We hadn't even done the 5k and we already had the finishing medals!! I thought that it was pretty funny!

Mormon Miracle Pagent
This year I was able to go down to Manti for the Mormon Miracle Pageant. I went with my friend Josh, Amanda and Shawn and then Amanda's twin sister met us down there. I had the opportunity to talk with one of the many protesters and preachers that stood out side with signs and crosses. This man approched me, we started talking and he kept saying how much he loves Jesus he then asked me some scriptural questions I then asked him questions. I asked him if he had read the Book of Mormon, he said yes I then asked if he had prayed about it after, he said no. He followed with there is just something missing, he believed that the book was true but there was just something missing. The man I talked to along with the others he was there with were carrying crosses, I asked the man I was talking to why he was carrying it and if it helped him appreciate more the sacrafice that Christ made for us? He said that while he had been carrying it he was spit on, pointed and yelled at, but with all of it he felt that it helped him understand just a very small amount more of what Christ felt. I found this experience interesting and I am grateful that this man was not yelling, being rude or contensious. I cant really know or take all of what he said to be 100% true, I can however take this experience and use it to better myself and let it teach me how to be a better member misisonary. After talking with that man I walked back into the seating area and found an Elder and asked if I could just shake his hand, it was really amazing to go from one side of the fence talking to protesters in an area of contension, yelling and alot of anger and then walk to the other side of the fence and feel the spirit. The Pagent this year was definatly the best one I have been to yet, I am so glad I went.
I DID IT!!
So I did a 5k on the 27th of June and kicked butt! I set 2 goals and was able to fulfill all of them, the first was to come in under an hour and I did that then the 2nd goal was to not be the last one to finish the race and I did that too. It feels good to be able to say that I have done a 5k. I really enjoyed myself. I am planning on doing the 5k for American Fork Steal Days this month too! I am way excited!
