*cough, cough* Space Camp....

One of my most "treasured" childhood moments was 5th grade space camp week! I LOVED it! Well... I was talking with Amanda and we were reminiscing about how great it was.. because she too went to space camp.. ANYWHOOO! She got an email from Thanksgiving Point advertising for *drum rollll please!!!* iWorlds :) So we rounded up 16 people.. 97% of them were members from Amandas WoNdErFuL family. I brought my little sis Brittany (aka.. MUFFIN) and my (not at the time, but now) roommate Brynn.

It is safe to say that one of my "guilty pleasures" is space camp... I had a blast and am planning to go back one more time before they leave. It was pure fun, pure, pure, blast from the past fun :)

This isn't something you want to see when flying through space...bad, bad, bad

Close call... uncomfortably close..

I was the Ambassador.. this was the hardest call I have ever taken ;)

This may not be the best quality picture.. but its great blackmail..

April General Conference

I was able to get a group of friends in my ward together to go to conference with tickets from our bishop. We had an amazing time. I loved sharing the conference experience with my close friends.

Manti Temple Trip :)

My ward had a temple trip and we went to Manti. Every second of it was completely enjoyable! The weather was great, the company was amazing, the laughs and stories shared were incredible. Brother Benson (one of the counselors in the bishopric) shared some fun facts about Manti Temple and the grounds there.... SOOOO here are some "Gee Whizzzz" facts about the temple!

+ The hill that the temple is built on was dedicated by Moroni as a spot for a future temple.

~ There are two spiral staircases on each end of the temple that are built onto the wall and have no middle support. They are two of five in the world!!!

Well those are the only fun facts I remember..... :P

It was an amazing day filled with incredible experiences! I was truly blessed!

Small and Simple

“Brothers and sisters, we should find great comfort in the fact that ordinary people who faithfully, diligently, and consistently do simple things that are right before God will bring forth extraordinary results.”  - Elder Bednar

I was perusing around lds.org and saw the highlights from the Womens Conference at BYU. Well I started to skim through and that just was not enough. I watched the clips and have been reading through all the snippets. I highly recommend taking a look for your self. You will NOT be disappointed :-)  I want to share my favorite quotes that touched me deeply. It is a lot of reading for a blog.. it is well worth the time.
---Blissful Reading---

Elder David A. Bednar

"As you and I become increasingly steadfast and immovable, we are less prone to zealous and exaggerated spurts of spirituality followed by extended periods of slackness." -- Elder Bednar

“In a world of increasing wickedness, in a world where good is called evil and evil is called good, in a world that puts darkness for light and light for darkness (see 2 Nephi 15:20), you can be blessed with ‘the hope of righteousness’ (Galatians 5:5), ‘the light of the Lord’ (Isaiah2:5), and protection against deception (see 1 Nephi 15:24; Helaman 5:12),” Elder Bednar testified.

Sister Julie B. Beck

“The identity we have from Heavenly Father can be fully understood only through spiritual confirmation,” she said. “An intellectual study can be made, but a spiritual confirmation teaches us who we are and what we are to do. … The identity of a daughter of God is precious beyond compare and rich and full."

“They are given this powerful and influential leadership role,” she said. “The female responsibility of being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend … is all about nurturing, teaching, and influencing. These are non-negotiable responsibilities. We can’t delegate them. We can accept them and live them. These are things we understood before we were born, and we can’t negotiate with the Lord whether they’re part of His plan. These are our responsibilities.”
“Am I aligned with the Lord’s vision of me and what He needs me to become?”

“Heavenly Father loves His daughters,” she said. “And because the reward at the end [of this life] is so glorious, we do not get a pass from the responsibilities we were given. We cannot give them away. They are our sacred duties, and we fulfill them under covenant.”

“There are a lot of feelings of entitlement, feelings that someone owes [us] something,” Sister Beck said. “This even happens in families. I hear a wife say ‘my husband owes me this,’ usually [regarding] time or help. … When I remember the Savior Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us, I remember who owes Who. No one owes me anything, and I owe everything to the Lord for His sacrifice.

* I added color and made certain words bold to stand out, it is all my personal touch. It may not be a word that the speaker them selves emphasized *

Yard Sale say.. whhhattt??

You are not going to believe this... so Amanda tells me at the beginning of last week that there was a yard sale for her ward to raise money for the Young Women. I decided that I could go find some random thing for $5 and call it good, I would have donated my $5 and gotten something random and been good.. BUT... hold on to your socks... While Amanda and I were looking we hear one of the main yard sale ladies yell " Everything you can fit in one of these boxes (she was pointing to a HUGE pile of boxes to the side of her) is $5 TOTAL!!!" Needless to say I ran over and got two boxes, one for me and one for Amanda. Well I went and tossed everything I wanted but was out of the amount I had set for myself into my $5 box. Ok... are you ready to see what I got?? Are you sure....?? Ok here ya go! All of this was $5...... I have issues.. I cant get the pitctures the right way up... sorry!
